sounds like i'm teaching you to use Audacity to digitize from cassettes.

i assume you have a cassette deck at your apt, yes? if so, we can take a walk to the radio shack in central to buy you the <$10 audio cable you'll need, and we can use your computer to do it.

I have TWO cassette decks. Three if you count the dubbing deck as two.

Also, the only machine I have right now is a super ghetto box running Ubuntu. Will that pose a difficulty?

if it has a mic jack it'll be fine. in fact, i run Ubuntu 95% of the time myself.
