There's a facilities guy whose only job is to walk around looking into people's offices, cubes, and conference rooms and check things off on a print out. Also in his job description: pausing at every hallway intersection to look around; never actually entering a workspace (he stops at the entrance to your cube, tilts his body forward, and swivels his head before withdrawing to draw his check mark. Our cube walls are only four feet high, so this is totally unnecessary vis a vis seeing into a cubicle); carrying two smartphones; turning lights on and off again.
He almost certainly gets paid more than I do.
