cat people

Here is a link you should see.

It's worksafe, if modernist yuppie ostentation is safe at your place of work. For those who worry, this is a $600 walnut box you can put a litter box in so that it fits in with your other incredibly overpriced brown furniture.

To be clear. This is not a litterbox. It is a box that you put a litterbox in.

I just got a huge raise. Huge. Like some people make less annually than the raise I just got. So I make a pretty decent living now. I could maybe even afford this thing. So I just want to make one thing understood: If I ever spend $600 on a box to put another slightly uglier box inside, I want you to find me and beat me to death with a shovel. If you buy something like this, you are an asshole.

But they can "stack or fit side by side in endless configurations!"

I bet every day their copywriters have to stop themselves from slamming their heads against their desks just to end it all.

you know, there are more subtle ways of asking for a birthday present

for forest, I'd go in on that present

Congrats on the huge raise!

Boo to crazy yuppie cat people.

I just flipped through some huge, glossy Restoration Hardware catalogs that showed up at our new place, from the prior owners I assume. The oft-used phrase, "authentic, original, reproduction," and the price tags of said copies in the thousands was enough to send me into a rage...but the Collection of German Carnival Noses brought the whole thing to such a grand new level of absurd, I gave up my outrage and just moved them to the recycling bin.

Plenty of yuppies dog people out there, too

http://www.dailyrevelry.com/the-15-most-ridiculous-things-people-buy-for-their-pets/

Architect-designed doghouse - $250K.

The type of pet is irrelevant - wealthy people are just plain weird. And kinda stupid in a no-common-sense kind of way. Like my boss, who recently "hired" movers... and got upset when they didn't put him in the schedule because he never signed the contract and gave them a deposit... The attitude of how low-wage laborers are just supposed to show up because he told them to, he'll pay them later...

Oh absolutely!

The no-common-sense thing makes me crazy, in any circumstance.

The expression on the Sphynx in the picture really makes this ad priceless:

“Jeeves, I shall require privacy in my poopiterium. See to it, you knave.”

I went to a friend's house, and she had made something like this out of a hallway storage bench by cutting a hole in the side.

Her cats love it, and it only cost her $15 at a thrift store. She already had the jigsaw and sandpaper she used to make the hole.

...it's still just a box full of shit.

Awesome! Congrats on the raise! I suppose they finally gave you some recognition for the work you're doing. Well done!

Congrats on the raise! Boo to the (ugly imho) $600 cat box box.
