I will hike with you! The training I did really did make hiking with 30+lbs on my back much easier (not easy, but easier). I want to do some more winter hiking as well, that's easier on my knees coming down (do you have microspikes?).
Your belief in my toughness is touching but approaching delusional. ;-) I would have had to carry at least one meal with me, and trained more on burpees. :-) Working on my shoulder now, and trying to get back to regular runs.
