The first draft of this year's Transformers mini-series script is done and with the publisher. The scope is not quite that of last year's effort, but the cast is bigger. So in re-drafting it and writing the dialogue, I am presented with a whole new set of difficulties. Where before, exposition was difficult because of the epic scale and esoteric nature of the story, now it's tough because everyone deserves a little screen time.
( But here is a teaser that will only excite serious nerds. )

tegin leaves for Shanghai on Thursday morning.
spriggan will be helping me to complete the arcade machine Thursday evening (or, more accurately, I will be helping him). After that, I will spend the following 12 days finishing the original Splinter Cell, and then playing Dawn of War: Winter Assault, Half-Life 2, F.E.A.R. and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. Probably in that order. If we do indeed get the arcade machine up and running, I will spend a lot of time downloading ROMs. There will be an announcement upon the successful first game of Shinobi, after which folks are free to come over and play Contra or Rampage or 1943 whenever, as long as they bring beer.
I expect I will also be watching a lot of movies. Hellboy is first on the list.

As some of you know, Tegin's pet rabbit Spartacus suffered early last week from a sudden total loss of equilibrium and minor seizures, most likely due to an e. cuniculi infection.
He spent two days at Angell Memorial Hospital, but is now home and apparently recovering. He's got a pretty severe head tilt that is depressing as hell to see, and his balance is still pretty bad. But he is drinking water from a dish, eating and grooming himself. He's very greedy for attention, even to the point of more or less total docility when being force-fed the medications we inflict on him twice daily.
I have a great deal of affection for that bunny. I spent a couple days last week near tears, when we thought he was going to die. The high point of my mornings was him coming over and sticking his nose out of his cage for petting, which he no longer does because standing on his back legs is impossible for him right now.
Poor little bunny.
